Man Utd fans have same message for Chelsea fans after Romelu Lukaku’s display vs. Brazil

Belgium advanced to the World Cup semi-finals on Friday night after defeating Brazil 2-1 in Kazan.
A Fernandinho own goal put Belgium 1-0 up before Kevin De Bruyne doubled the European nation’s advantage with a stunning strike from outside the box.

Brazil, who were the pre-tournament favourites, pulled a goal back through Renato Augusto with 15 minutes remaining but Belgium held on to set up a mouth-watering semi-final against France.

He may not have scored but Romelu Lukaku was excellent throughout the evening and played a key role in Belgium’s second goal of the night.
The Manchester United striker, who has scored four goals at this summer’s World Cup finals, dribbled from deep in his own half, driving forward with pace, power and purpose, before picking out De Bruyne.

It was one of the standout assists of the tournament so far and his first-half displays led to lofty praise from Match of the Day pundits Rio Ferdinand and Alan Shearer.

“It’s like playing in the school playground and you have a 16-year-old playing against the 11-year-olds, It’s like that he’s too big and too strong for everyone,” Ferdinand said. “He shouldn’t be allowed to play with them almost!”

SHEARER: ONE OF THE BEST 45 MINS WE’VE SEEN OF LUKAKU

Shearer added: “I’ve been very, very impressed with him. Pace, power, touch, strength, technique, bringing people into the game and he’s played that role very well because he’s been asked to do a different one – to pull out wide a little bit to create space for Hazard or De Bruyne.

“You could tell after four or five minutes when the ball went up to him you thought, ‘he’s in the mood tonight,’ I think this is one of the best 45 minutes we’ve seen of Lukaku.”
Lukaku, who turned 25 in May, has been outstanding for Belgium in Russia and United fans are feeling glad he’s their No. 9.

Following his eye-catching performance against Brazil, United supporters have been winding up their Chelsea counterparts, reminding them of what they were saying this time last summer.

UNITED FANS REMIND CHELSEA FANS WHAT THEY SAID LAST SUMMER

Back then, many Chelsea fans on social media were convinced that Alvaro Morata (who cost £60 million to sign from Real Madrid) would be a better signing than Lukaku (£75 million from Everton).

Fast-forward 12 months, however, and those who made that argument have been left looking rather red-faced

Lukaku scored 27 goals in his debut season for United and now stands a chance of winning the World Cup.

Morata, on the other hand, only managed to score 15 goals in all competitions last term and wasn’t selected by Spain for their 23-man World Cup squad

Given the choice between the two, it’s safe to assume many Chelsea supporters would now prefer to have Lukaku instead.

Lukaku was, of course, once on Chelsea’s books – as was his Belgium teammate De Bruyne
