The Ogun State Government has announced the death of a two-time Secretary to the State Government and Head of the State Civil Service, Deacon Poju Adeyemi.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SGF, Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, revealed that the deceased, who served simultaneously as Secretary to the State Government and Head of State Civil Service from January 1992 to January 1994, and was reappointed as the State Scribe from June 1999 to May, 2003, died in the early hours of today at the age of 80.
According to the release, the deceased bagged a Bachelor of Science, BSc in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the University of Connecticut, Hartford, USA, where he studied Public Service Management.
The release added that Deacon Adeyemi, was also Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 1987 and Civil Service Commission in 1998, prior to his appointment as SSG.
He was until his death a member of the Board of Director of WEMABOD, a subsidiary of O’dua Group of Companies and leader of the Ogun West Elders’ Consultative Forum.
The release stated further that, the frontline member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be missed, for his fatherly counsel, prayers and support for the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration and the State in general.
